Namaste – the meaning.

May this journey of yours be a fruitful one!

Namaste

As I see it, this is the true, or fundamental, meaning of the word and the gesture:

1. Namaste
an ancient Sanskrit greeting still in everyday use in India and especially on the trail in the Nepal Himalaya. Translated roughly, it means “I bow to the God within you”, or “The Spirit within me salutes the Spirit in you” – a knowing that we are all made from the same One Divine Consciousness.
from The Urban Dictionary.

An email exchange.

Symbolising the two "levels" of thinking.

Symbolising the two “levels” of thinking.

Friend 1. I am now in the exit lounge.

Friend 2. Are you exiting life in comfort? Isn’t that what an exit lounge is?

At a supermarket a shopper buys a newspaper just to get the TV guide. Later, he extracts guide and disposes of the rest. Another shopper buys a newspaper just to get the TV guide, extracts it and leaves the rest at the counter saying that that is for the staff canteen.

The caring dental prostethist.

Yesterday I left my cycle helmet behind when I left my dental prosthetist and hurried back hoping to catch him before he left. He had got my address from his records and was going to drop the helmet off at my home or, if I was not there, bring it back to his workplace, put it in a safe spot beneath the building and phone me later as to where it was.

NOTICE.

I have been posting here for a long time with the intention that some posts, at least, would change the direction of aspiration of  a few readers. I have also not been too pleased that the majority of the posts appeared to be negative despite their purpose being positive. Unfortunately, when the wishing well is almost full of negatives what one’s grapple picks up tends to be negative: such, sadly, is the nature of the collective human psyche at present. Be that as it may I will henceforth limit my posts to positives and follow a few blogs.

Meanwhile, I have started NEW BLOG about my current self-healing by meditational focus. CLICK if interested.

Climbing the spiritual ladder.

Symbolising the two "levels" of thinking.

Symbolising the two “levels” of thinking.

Following a casual conversation with me on the subject of my writings, and having been given one of my cards with the URL of the website, a lady said, ‘I will read them with an open mind.’ I observed, ‘This may seem arrogant but it seems to me that all questions one might ask are answered somewhere along the way.’

Some time later we met again and the lady said, ‘I want to have a long chat with you about your website.’ which reminded me of what I had said about all questions being answered and it occurred to me that although this was true it might be necessary for some to climb the spiritual ladder in order to “see” the answers.
